Thanks to everyone for their love and support. I just got back from an exceptionally long week in Minnesota and I hope that things will be settling down for everyone. My brothers are still young and at home and it's been very hard on them. It's been long and hard and I am glad to be safe at home with Jim and my kitties.

I could use some good vibes. I'm nervous about a doctor's appointment I have tomorrow. For approximately three years, I've been convinced I have an ulcer, which flares up when I'm really stressed out or anxious. Last week was really bad and I spent three or four nights doubled over in pain. I'm mostly nervous about the testing. I really don't want an EGD done (where they go down your throat with a camera) because I've had tubes down my throat before and it was one of the most unpleasant experiences in my life. Maybe I can ask them to knock me out if they have to do it...

A gastroscopy is the usual mode of diagnosis, but normally you're given a sedative and you'll barely be conscious through the whole procedure. Try not to freak out about it, it'll just aggravate your ulcer (if you have one).

Best of luck, Carly!

Thanks, Keith! No gastroscopy today. Just blood and urine tests to see if I have bacteria junk (yeah, that's the technical term for it).

Do they not do Upper GI's for this anymore? I've had my share of ulcers (the first at age 13) and I just had to drink some barium and then lay on a table for some pictures. Guess it has been nearly 14 years since my last ones though. Hope that your news is good, Carly.

Hi Carly, glad you didn't have to have a gastroscopy today, and hope your test results show good news.

I could use some good vibes ahead of my mini-tour of Holland, which starts Wedesday!

Sending good vibes to Rob today that his surgery goes well.

And getting my vibe machine warmed up for Sandina's gall bladder surgery tomorrow.

((((((((((((((((((((((((**))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
BTW, I've sent both doctors copies of the Operation game

I'm pleased to report that both doctors breezed through the game flawlessly, so good vibes probably aren't even necessary. But can't hurt.

I hated Operation when I was a wee child. I wore ear muffs while playing it. Seriously. lol...

I need some good, sober vibes. I've been dangerously close to relapsing all week. I'm done trying to figure out WHY that is. It just is. Whatev.

Hang in there, Carly. I am not too sure what to say in this situation, but I can at least share with you how much I've admired your willingness to share so openly your addiction challenges. It can't be easy, but I admire your strength!

Good vibes sent out to all of you needing it now:

Carly, you're fighting a good fight. Keep it up.

Marybeth, here's good wishes sent your way.

Sandi, I hope things go smoothly and you get to feeling much better.

Rob, here's hoping things go well, and that you soon feel the physical comfort and peace you've been needing.
