Checking on the elderly during severe weather?

The Today Show did a feature on the bad snowstorms and recommended checking on the elderly to make sure the heat's working, that they've got an ample stock of food and any necessary prescriptions.
Rather than sending individual PMs, hopefully this public post will do:

You OK? Arlene, Keith? Bivester, Russell, Jane? Ian?
Got heat? Got beer? Got toilet paper?
Got a battery-operated CD player/ iPod in case power goes out?

Lucky me! Tonto forgot to call my name. (62 soon) Anyways, we haven't got a lot of snow around.... up north, in Canada!

Thanks for your concern Bruce.
I'm toasty warm under my sheepskin blanket and have plentifull supplies of strong ale.
However, at our age, you can never have too much toilet paper....

Always grateful for your concern, Bruce. :) All is well. Actually, NYC was quite beautiful yesterday.
