RIP Phil Ramone

Postby Rob » Sat Mar 30, 2013 6:14 pm

I had the great privilege of working with Phil on a number of occasions on a number of shows. Leaving aside the voluminous amount of remarkable music he produced and engineered, and all the technical achievements he was famed for, he was also remarkably kind and down-to-earth. Those were his greatest assets as a producer, and even more so, as a person. A real sweetheart as they say.

I asked him a few years back if he'd heard Patty (before she was well-known) and his answer was,"ohhh, sure." The inflection in his voice said, 'she's terrific.'

He'll be greatly missed. :(
