I thought I posted a greeting earlier this afternoon. I'm technically and directionally challenged.

Hello to all. My name is outta and it's nice to kinda meet ya! Thanks for welcoming me to the board. Please don't do it again ... :!:

Whew ... glad that's over. Intruductions and "getting to know you" have a tendancy to throw me into panic mode!

Now, I'm outta this thread ...

A long belated welcome to OUTTA, and espescially to KAREN. Sorry it took me so long to respond (and I know I owe you a PM, Karen). Hope your stay here is a happy one. Please start some new threads or whatever and make yourselves at home.

Thanks, Turk! I can think of about a hundred threads I've already wanted to discuss. Is it too quiet around here, or am I just too loud?

You can never be too loud, and loud is contagious. Maybe it'll catch on. I know it's been kinda quiet but it goes that way at times. People get preoccupied with stuff, traveling, work and life in general get in the way.

Don't be shy and don't worry if threads don't catch on for awhile.

Yeah, we always come back eventually. 'Tis part of the beauty of Patty fandom! :)

Hi There,

I've been checking out this board for a while now (especially the artist recommendation section) and -after some prodding by Marybeth- I decided to introduce myself :

My name is Marcel and I live in Holland.
I work in I.T. and work from home mostly. I also regularly travel, as part of my job.

Working from home, has the advantage that I can listen to music all day long...
Otherwise, my productivity drops like a stone

The first artists in this 'genre', that I got interested in, were Dar Williams & Richard Shindell. Probably in the early 90's...

And my music colllection grew steadily from there, with artists like Ani Difranco, Shawn Colvin and so on..

I have discovered quite a lot of music that I like, based on your recommendations on this board !

I also think that last.fm is quite useful, to find new artists....

The first Patty Griffin album, that I listened to, was probably a bootlegged Silver Bell, a few years ago ?

In the last couple of years, I started going to concerts regularly (varying from singer/songwriter to rock).

and in the last 6 months, or so, I've started to take photographs as well...

Unfortunately, I've not seen Patty play live yet...

Bye,

Marcel

We're glad to have you and I'm sure there are many folks on here who will be happy to see your photos and gab about music....

Hi Marcel, nice to see you here...always good to know that the love for Patty is expanding across the oceans. :)

I am a big Ani fan myself. Hope I'll see you in the "other artists" forum to talk about her.

welcome, and be sure you stay a while,

Hello, all! I finally decided to join a Patty community so I had somewhere to gush about her. Luckily, I've turned a few friends and family on to her, but it's not enough sometimes. ACL will be my first time seeing Patty live and I am stoked. Maybe I'll see some of you there? :D
