Your ears must have been burning, Rachel. MB and I were talking about people we don't see here too often anymore. We, and I'll speak for MB, heart that.

Thanks. Although, I won't actually be done until December--but still 2009!

Talking to Mary Gauthier this morning.

A mailbox stuffed full of happy: Front row Lucinda Williams tickets, new albums from Nanci Griffith, Todd Snider, Reed Foehl, Doyel Lawson and the Cedar Hill Refugees (John Carter Cash, Ralph Stanley, John Cowan and others) and super pretty wrist cuffs.

I love my job. It's a little ridiculous.

...Getting back to the Stanley Cup Finals!

They start in two and a half hours and I am about ready to climb out of my skin.

Life's milestones are so cool and very much worth treasuring! Congrats to Keith and family and to Jess. We'll wait 'til December for Joey, but we're ready!

In the meantime, I Image that MLG (My Little Girl - all huggable and lovely 5'11" of her) graduated from high school this past Saturday. That was soooo exciting. She's off to Italy today where, I suppose. she'll get more advance experience for her major in international relations at the University of Washington in Seattle (with a double minor in Spanish and Mandarin - double minor??? hell, I was plenty busy with a single major in electrical engineering and no minor). Anyway, I plan to grab my coffee cup and make many visits to that beautiful city on Puget Sound over the next few years.

OK. All that is well and good. But here's what I really, really Image. I'm looking at the year end school publication with all the seniors' this and that's, including "Favorite Song Lyric", and MLG's turns out to be "All these years I have wandered and wherever I roamed/I was never alone or forsaken I know/Somewhere out yonder I know I will find/That a bright beacon shines for a seeker."

Now, THAT makes the old man tear up big time!

Those lines gave me chill bumps, Russell. Congrats on YLG!.

Also, way to go, Jess!

And, Keith, three college graduates is a phenomenal feat.

You all have every right to be proud..
