Gosh, that nearly made me tear up as well Russell! Congrats to your daughter and to you for raising such a good one. :)

Way to go, Keith!

I heart that Jim from the Loretta Lynn crew was super cool and handed me a photo pass. I'm pretty sure I've never, ever, ever been as high as I was shooting that show.

So now I've seen Loretta and Dolly. I'm not sure who else is on my legends list.

I heart having gotten to interview Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls this morning - I love this gig.

And that the kid that in high school I was closest too (before I transferred to a Catholic girls school) didn't write me off - even though I was mean and nasty to him - and cared enough to find me after college. We went to see Grace Potter last night and stayed up at IHOP talking until like 4 in the morning.

Finding out that someone in the Boston area found my cookbook at a little independent bookstore! This whole distribution thing is fantastic!

Thanks Turk and Timmah!

And congrats, Tim! That's so great! Best day of the year, I'd say!

I heart celebrating the 14th anniversary of our brewery yesterday. It has been a hell of a run, and we're still going strong. I got to spend the day with the great friends I work with, as well as many of our long-time and newer customers. Nate and I made a double IPA for the festivities and it went over very well. Our dear friend Dale (some call him Der Rauchenmensch) does all our signs for us, and I especially love the one he did for the beer. Bonus points for those who can nod to the semi-veiled music reference in the name of the Anniversary Ale!

My friends The Reefermen hit the patio at 8:30 PM and let it rip semi-acoustic for the rest of the night. That's Mikey B on bass, Bobby East on soft-shell public saxophone, Jeff "Shaky" Faulkes on drums and James Wailin on vocals.

Well into the night, once everyone was good and juiced and the crowd was loose, James announced that I would be singing the third section of the next song. It wasn't as if I was going to have a choice. Then they kicked into "Mean Mister Mustard" and I knew that "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" awaited me. James stayed close to lend a hand and I think we knocked them out with the harmonies on the chorus. It was a great moment and I had a blast, instantly wishing I was still in a band and wanting to jam as soon as possible.

Later, as Bobby soloed his ass of on "Use Me" by Bill Withers, my thoughts flew to my brother ScottTTMFG and suddenly there you all were, sitting around a table in my mind's eye with pints in hand, grooving right along. Sure wish it could have been real...

All in all, a GREAT day!

Dale is a man of many talents. Heh.

I deeply wish I could have been there Tim.

I now want to listen to Bill Withers. I will begin with "Grandma's Hands" as I take out the garbage and the recycling. Recycling is very important.

Wish I could attend the bar and check out the special brew. Maybe one day...
What was musical reference of the ale, Tim?

Scott -
Your suggestion of Grandma's Hands made me go look for it.
Thank you. Love it.
