Anybody have any info on Kasey's U.S. tour dates?? I'm seeing some pop up (Ram's Head, Telluride) but can't find any schedule on her website or Pollstar and my login for her fan forum has expired. I created a new account but have to wait for the admin to approve it.

I saw Kasey, Shane and Kasey's dad Bill last thursday at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina ... +Nicholson
Kim Taylor was the opening act...

Kasey's mum stayed in Australia, to take care of the kids....

This gig was one of the highlights of the year for me....

I think that I sat next to a reviewer from 'no depression' ?

Kasey talked **a lot**. and she was very funny..
I think that I now know every aspect of her private life and marriage!
She made the joke that they played ‘Highway to Hell’ at her wedding...

(I think this annoys Shane a bit, he would like a bit more privacy!)
Like all Australian men, he has a 'shed' with a fridge full of beer where he goes to, when he needs to get away.
He writes most of his songs there...
(he also said 'A Happy Wife, is a Happy Life' :D )

She had pictures of her two kids on stage...

The place was reasonably full (maybe 200 people or more?) and there were a lot of fans that knew all the songs.

She was very surprised and happy about this.

She got startled a few times, when the audience cheered when they recognized one of her older songs, as she started to sing...

So, apparently, not all U.S. gigs in this tour, are like this for her....

She said that in the past, when she was the opening act for Robert Earle Keane, some audiences down south were very mean to her...
She described the famous scene in the Blues Brothers movie, where the band played behind chicken wire....

They did a mix of songs from all her albums and also her Dad's and Shane's Solo albums and some covers.

Apparently her dad now has kids of the same age as Kasey's kids ?
So, Kasey & Bill are making a children's album and they did 2 songs off that (with a kazoo solo!)..

She joked that if you haven't heard your favorite song yet towards the end of the gig..... Then you need to drive to Knoxville the next day and hope that they will play it there...

Here's some info about Kasey's children's album:

Kasey Chambers next album will be one for the kids.

Kasey and her father Bill Chambers will release an album of children’s songs under the name Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill and the Little Hillbillies.

Kasey’s husband Shane Nicholson and her brother Nash Chambers will play on the album. Nash and the Chambers family have produced the album.

The album will also feature the songwriting debut of Kasey’s 7-year old son Talon who has written the song ‘Two Houses’ for the album.

“Writing this book has been a dream of mine since my first son was born 7 years ago. The idea of the story and characters started back then and have grown a little each passing year,” Kasey said in a statement.

To coincide with the album, Kasey has also written a children’s book called ‘Little Kasey and the Lost Music’. The book will feature a bonus CD of the track ‘The Lost Music Blues’ as well as an audio reading of the book by Kasey.

“The main character (Little Kasey) is based on myself when I was 8 years old growing up in the outback of Australia. My two best friends in the story are ‘Froggles’, based on and named by my 7 year old son Talon, and ‘Worm’ who is based on my real life best friend, roadie and lighting technician, “Worm”. His wife, (in real life of course!) Bernadette, is also one of my closest friends and a great teacher. She helped me write and bring this idea to life. Having this book finally illustrated and published is a dream come true and one of the proudest moments of my life.”

Both the book and CD will be released on October 30 through Liberation.

And here's two songs from the album on youtube:
Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill and the Little Hillbillies

My little boy who is 1½ years old loves The Lost Music Blues!! He starts to dance and looks very happy when he hears it. :-) Thank God that he has good taste in music so I don't have to force him to listen to Kasey's children's album... ha ha...

Patty does harmonies on the first track of Kasey Chambers' new album, Little Bird.

It's the only song I listened to. Most of the time, I'd rather clean my ears out with a paring knife than listen to Kasey.

Patty's also singing on this one:

Called Somewhere.

Bumping for Somewhere. It's totally worthy.
