Aww, looking at pix of her playing always makes me smile. She always looks relaxed *and* intense, somehow.

Sounds like it was a great show, Neeecole! I'm jealous. :)

And yay for more new songs,

Finally!

Postby libraryliz » Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:58 am

I just ordered Driving North and Melissa Ferrick's 70 People at 7000 Feet
and I'm blaming you people if I don't like them...kidding!
You've never steered me wrong before!
Now I can't wait for them to arrive!

Okay, I edited this to write: they arrived! We're all in love and running away together! These cds are amazing!
Thanks to Gillian and Elise for including songs on their mixes - I might not have taken a chance if I hadn't heard at least 2 songs each.

These are shots of Chris at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA.

The show was reallyyyy great. . . finally met Christen, HOLY DREAMBOAT! (gilly, lisey, YOU WERE RIGHT) I spaced the setlist. . . sorry, all the hotness around me was a complete distraction.

There were 2 new songs I think, but they were the same ones I heard at Paradise Lounge before. . . also, Waterboys, again, and the faves, Silo, Cynical, Porch Songs. She should have played longer, everyone left after her set was over!!!

FUN FUN HAPPY HAPPY

Wow, this thread has been neglected for quite a long time... understandable I suppose, BUT I just have to bump it to remind everyone that Chris's new CD, Dryland, is coming out on Sept 26th! She's going on national tour after that through the fall and winter. I hear great, great things about the record and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. The faux pas productions website has been updated with the album cover, a press release, and new bio, so check that out if you want to know more about the CD. She had a lot of really great artists play with her this time (Alli Miller-drums, David "Goody" Goodrich-guitar, etc).

Lastly, they're gonna be posting a song from the new CD each week starting in September on Chris's MySpace. Wheee!!

I feel like everyone reading this probably already knows what's coming.

Dryland is one of the ten best albums I own... and I've owned it for about four hours now. Please pick up a copy, and don't forget that Chris is embarking on a national tour.

The CD is so damn good, I just can't even believe it. It gets better and better with each listen, and I've listened to it COUNTLESS times in the week and a half or so that I've had it. Her lyrics this time around are just stunning. The production is flawless, once again. This artist has got it together, and if you're not on the Chris Pureka bandwagon yet, use Dryland as your opportunity to get on it. And go out and see her when she comes through your town!! (And tell her you're a PattyNet member... she loves us, hehe).
