I'm not QUITE sure what to make of this artist.

A local record store owner plays him constantly, but I'm not sure of the appeal. Definitely in the intentionally weird style camp of Boy George/ Julee Cruise/ Rufus Wainwright.
As Ian has noted elsewhere, Antony seems to be the darling of critics.
Mercury Awards

They're a bit too avante gard for my taste but I'm sure fans of Nina Simone will love them.

They're also somewhat retro to my ears in the style of Bryan Ferry's crooning (but I've never heard Antony launch into a "Love is the Drug" type rocker).
I was rather surprised to see him in that Mercury awards show----I had always pictured him as somewhat smallish, but then he towered over Jools Holland.

Q: If Antony (a New Yorker) qualifies as best Brit artist, shouldn't gala002 be included in all trades open to Euro-members???

He may be a New Yorker but I believe he originaly hails from Chichester.
I'm assuming that's Chichester UK and not some little suburb of one of your citys (why is it you always pinch our towns names  )

When he was being interviewed he didn't sound much like a New Yorker
(but I don't think he sounds anything like me either lol)

Denis (gala002) may be living in Canadia, but he actually used Worchestershire sauce! I think that qualifies him as an honorary Brit (with all its trading perks).

That doesn't make up for him speaking French

While I've grown to LOVE "I Am a Bird Now", I've not quite acclimated to Antony's fashion sense---Image
In my college days, I had an older woman upstairs who "dressed" by wrapping the bed sheet around her; this is NOT a pleasant flashback.

I also love I Am a Bird Now.

That's all.
