Get a grip, KN.

I'm not really a huge hip-hop fan.

While I like a lot of the beats to many of these songs (as I am a self-professed dancing queen  ), I get turned off by the majority of the lyrics -- most of which seem composed of violence, misogyny, bling-bling, materialism, and nothing new or important to today's society. Maybe that's more rap than hip-hop.

I do enjoy The Black-Eyed Peas, however -- they were at a concert I went to and they gave a terrific, energetic performance. OutKast has some good stuff too. I wouldn't buy it, however.

I am disappointed that the youth of today only seems to like this type of music. There is so much music out there, from pop to techno to ska to folk to rock, all of which has it's gold-mines among the genre.

But each to their own. That just means more Patty and the like for me.
