Yes, there's a whole world of music out there besides Patty.

Is anyone listening to Brandi Carlile? I'm really enjoying her self-titled debut album. To get a taste of her music, check out her appearances on World Cafe at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=4856001 or in the WFUV archives at http://wfuv.org/ (You know the drill-- type her name, Brandi Carlile, into the archives box.)
Keith- FYI. She'll be opening for Ray LaMontagne at Town Hall when we see him on December 5th. I'm looking forward to seeing both performers.

So, I picked up Brandi's record yesterday. Actually, I love it. I've listened to it repeatedly without skipping any tracks.
I wasn't one of the lucky ones to see her open for Ray, and her Club Passim show in February is already sold out.
Anywho, I also recommend checking her out. Awesome.

I saw Brandi in concert last night. What a phenomenal talent and performer. The girl is going to be a star. She did an absolutely stunning version of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah as her final encore - beautiful!! I have her latest CD and am now going to look for her earlier ones.

Yeah, her cover of Hallelujah was definitely the highlight of her set when I saw her play as well.

Love Brandi - saw for the second time at SXSW this year - she really won me over, and I've listened to the album many times! Her show the next night was sold out, but I've always have SXSW and Waterloo Records, hehe!

I just stopped and bought tickets for Brandi's show in Mpls on June 3rd. Played some of Brandi in the car for my friend Leah and convinced her to go too! Yippee!

Actually Brandi was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on June 9 had I known she was going to be on or that this thread exsisted I would've let you all know, sorry about that but they do show a lot of old shows from time to time so maybe they will with that particular show at some point...

cross-posted from another board...
I saw Brandi last night at the Variety Playhouse.
She was WONDERFUL. The first time I saw her she was solo and playing a low-key show in a tiny little listening room, but last night she had the full band with her and damn did they rock it. I nabbed the setlist and she very sweetly signed it for me...
Apparently T-Bone Burnett is gonna produce her next album. Which is incredibly exciting for me, seeing as I love his work as an musician *and* as a producer - he's produced stuff for everyone from Gillian Welch to the Counting Crows and it's all top-notch. I think he'll bring out the rockstar in her.
Setlist:
The Times They Are a-Changin' (Dylan)
Follow
Fall Apart Again
Happy
Late Morning (new)
Closer to You
The Clock (new)
My Song (new)
Throw It All Away
Downpour (new)
What Can I Say?
The Story
Again Today
Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash)
-------------
Cannonball
Tragedy
Sixty Years On (Elton John/Bernie Taupin)
Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)
