http://www.archive.org/ - Look under the Live Music Archive for almost 20,000 live shows from about 900 bands. Check out Open Source Audio for public domain music from early 78 RPM records to modern music. This is a fabulous resource, I could spend days on this website.

http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp - The archives of the Woodsongs Radio Show. Many great artists are on here, many with video.

Everybody needs a little forgiveness.

Thanks for the list... there were a few I had never heard of.

This one is a small archive section from Studio C on kbco.com
They have only 4 or 5 songs up at the same time but they change it regularly and they have had some interesting selections in the past!

Since people seem to be mentioning audio archives, I thought I'd bump this thread up.

You know, I don't know this for certain, but it appears that most if not all future World Cafe artist interviews and performances will be archived at http://www.npr.org

I've noticed that every show since July 1st has been archived by NPR. See http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=4724307

I know of no plans to go back and add to NPR archives past shows from the World Cafe but even if we'll "only" be getting archival access to future shows, this is a great development....

FYI. You can always see the guest list for an upcoming week's worth of World Cafe performances by going to http://worldcafe.org/comingup.php

Thanks a lot Arlene!! Even if they don't archive past shows, it'll be great to have access to recent shows this way... especially since it's pretty hard to listen online when they're first broadcast when you're in Europe!!

Thanks

In light of the recent discussion in the Eliza Gilkyson thread, I thought I'd update the list of archives (by adding Minnesota Public Radio, Folk Alley, all three sources within KUT's archives, etc.) and bump this thread back up.

The title of this thread just gave me a total and full-on musical erection.

This will be a much-visited thread.
Thank you, Arlene and fellow PattyContributors.

I must be excused now.

WRLT Nashiville "Lightning 100" has an archive page of mp3s of songs recorded live and interviews done in-studio. They don't add to the page that often but there are some good things there: songs by Michael Penn, Kathleen Edwards, Ray LaMontagne and others; there's an interview (including songs, I assume) with Jonatha Brooke (whom I don't really care for...but I am a big fan of her ex-partner Jennifer Kimball :P ).

http://www.wrlt.com/listen/mp3archives.cfml

Also, I posted this link on the Aimee Mann thread for an interview she did on "Saturday Asylum" on WMNF in Tampa (on 2-18-06):

http://sound.wmnf.org/sound/wmnf_000000_000001_asy1_262.MP3

They archive for 1 week only, so it's only good for the next 3 or 4 days. She does an interview (missing first few seconds) and 2 songs, "Little Bombs" and "Lost In Space" (beautiful version!). Aimee's segment is about 20 minutes into the show.

Thanks kcguy-- I've added the Nashville station to the initial post in this thread. (I used to include a link for them but they must have redesigned their web site because the old one I had was dead.)

And Gillian-- a sticky!!!! I'm....I'm.... verklemft. :D :D :D
