Janelle Monae lead me to remember this great song from Afrika Baambaata and John Lydon (Rotten).

Glad you all like Janelle Monae, I only discovered her recently. I'm liking what I hear, so far! Anyway Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy doing Wrote a song for everyone (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FAfMh_uLxvU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FAfMh_uLxvU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

And for a brief second I thought Mavis was doing a Patty (although I think Patty would've sounded good on Wrote a song for everyone) cover heh

I got lost in the "[/quotes]" and just realized you posted the videos. I've edited to reflect that.

I believe this is an old 16mm Pathe News original that's been audio dubbed.
A nice historical gem I think.

Another nice historical gem...

Stephen Stills, wearing the same clothes in which he performed in the early AM on Monday at Woodstock, plays the Dick Cavett show that night. Joni Mitchell is sitting next to him and Crosby is on the right at about the 1:25 mark. One of my favorite songs too.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/McLP2IRq4y0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/McLP2IRq4y0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

And here's where Stephen and David were introduced!

Why "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" (written by Carole King) is one of the best songs ever? It's all in the violin part. The Like, one of my favorite bands of 2010, illustrate it very well in this acoustic performance. It's very close to the Shirelles original. Fine vocals from Z Berg, too.

Nice! But I was kinda wishing those two gals would jump in with some harmonies.

They probably couldn't (something to work out, maybe?). The violin makes them anyway.

Over the Rhine share an unreleased tune from their forthcoming CD The Long Surrender, out on 2/8/11. Filmed during the Music Fog sessions at the 2010 Americana Music Festival in Nashville, TN.
