I used to wake and run with the moon
I lived like a rake and a young man
I covered my lovers with flowers and wounds
my laughter the devil would frighten
The sun she would come and beat me back down
but every cruel day had its nightfall
I'd welcome the stars with wine and guitars
full of fire and forgetful

My body was sharp the dark air clean
and outrage my joyful companion
whisperin' women how sweet did they seem
kneelin' for me to command them
And time was like water but I was the sea
I'd have never noticed it passin'
except for the turnin' of night into day
and the turnin' of day into cursin'

You look at me now, and don't think I don't know
what all your eyes are a sayin'
Does he want us to believe these ravings and lies
they're just tricks that his brains been a playin'?
A lover of women he can't hardly stand
he trembles he's bent and he's broken
I've fallen it's true but I say unto you
hold your tongues until after I've spoken

I was takin' my pride in the pleasures I'd known
I laughed and thought I'd be forgiven
but my laughter turned 'round eyes blazing and
said my friend, we're holdin' a wedding
I buried my face but it spoke once again
the night to the day we're a bindin'
and now the dark air is like fire on my skin
and even the moonlight is blinding

Very good song, French person, but today the blood of many a brave knight shall be avenged! In the name of God, we shall not stop our fight till every one of you lies dead, and the Holy Grail returns to those who God Himself has chosen!

Go away... I Don't want to talk to you no more you empty-headed animal food trough.
I fart in your general direction.
Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!

You forgot to call me a second hand electric donkey-bottom biter.

I noticed that too :(

It's perhaps as well that this video I found of BrontoYoder, rocking out to Grace Potter, isn't on YouTube

Ooh La La

That's actually Tim.

We're breaking the YouTube gems rule. Then again, we are witnesses to the birth of PattyNet Mach II...

Thanks for reminding me of her, Ian.

I kind of lost track of Ms. McEvoy after Snapshots. Then again, I lost track of a lot of good artists because when that album came out, I was in the process of diving deeply into some singer named Patty Plant. Many things simply fell away in her presence. Now I'm going to backtrack through Eleanor's catalog. Ms. Plant  is on hiatus (good on her) so now's the right time to rediscover artists like Eleanor McEvoy.

But how is there not a YouTuber for Please Heart You're Killing Me? One of my all-time favorite songs. I have it, but can't post it without YouTube. Maybe I'll sneakily make my own.

Eleanor McEvoy - Only a woman's heart

I like this stripped-down version much better than the one she put out long ago.
FWIW, she was promoting her latest album "Alone"------

Great version of a great song. I'm still partial to the first version I heard-- Emmylou with Mary Black-- but this may top that one, IMHO
