Anyone like her? I just got her album "Seven Angels on a Bicycle" and I think she's very cool!

I'm a MAJOR fan of hers (and also of her duet work with Chip Taylor).

Isn't he the guy who wrote "Born to be Wild"?

He wrote Wild Thing and Angel in the Morning and Janis Joplin's Try (Just a Little Bit Harder) and lots of other hits.

(And he happens to be actor Jon Voight's brother)

Chip Taylor wrote most of the songs on her solo album too (and I suspect you're thinking of "Wild Thing" Marybeth). Carrie herself is pretty hard not to like, Chip knows how to write for her, and the arrangements and musicianship on Seven Angels are top-notch as well. Great album IMO.

Yeah its really awesome. So far I really like "Dirty Leather" and "Never Going to be Your Bride". But I've only heard it twice through!

Trivia of the Day: If you've heard the duet included on one of Keith's mixes that Lucinda Williams does on Deportee with one David Rodriguez, be advised that he's the father of Carrie Rodriguez.

I've always appreciated the chemistry between Chip and Carrie...it doesn't seem like the type of thing that should work, but it does. I really like Texas fiddle and she's great at it. My only complaint is that I think she sometimes injects too much hick into her voice. When Steve Earle does it, it seems to work. Carrie doesn't always pull it off, in my opinion.

What I've heard of the new album sounds great, I'm going to get it soon.

Found out last week, to my delight, that Carrie is playing at my local music club next month WOOOT!

It's quite a coup for a small club like ours to land a star like Carrie.
It should be quite a night with Linda McLean from Canada in support.
Heard of her? ... no, nor me until recently.

just saw her open for Lucinda. She was wonderful. as was lucinda. I love it when she sounds "hicky". I think that's when she really belts it out. Great fiddler and electric mandolin player too.
If I died, he'd hear about it, eventually.

Great photo's Bill...

She's one gorgeous chick huh? I saw her on Friday night in front of a packed house at my local club. Wow! I didn't realise just how good she was going to be.

Wasn't as bold as you, so all I got was a signed cd
