Yes, there's a whole world of music out there besides Patty.

I was out of town for about a week and am just catching up on this thread.
Nice utubes, Marcel! I've listened/watched five of my favorites thus far: Ohio, Where I Lay My Baby Down, Oblivion, Every Week and The Journey.
There's nothing like an in-house concert on a cold Sunday night, so, thanks for that!
Marybeth, you do look and sound GREAT! There's great joy when we can take part in anothers joy ... so, I'm taking part in yours ... and cheering you on! You ROCK! Enjoy the journey and the places along the way ...

I forgot to mention that my song "Ohio" is available for free download this month at the website of Performing Songwriter. I am one of 12 monthly "DIY" picks this month. See www.performingsongwriter.com

If anyone out there lives in reasonable proximity to the Jersey shore (Ocean Grove near Asbury Park, NJ) I am giving a house concert there on October 18. If you want more details, you can PM me.

I live within reasonable proximity and I'm happy to report that...
MB was fabulous! I've never been to a house concert before and it was perfect. Not an empty seat in the house! MB said she was a bit hoarse from a Friday night jaunt into a very loud Jersey bar and attending her 10th High School Reunion ( ) on Saturday night, but she sounded awesome. Everyone loved the music and was talking about the quality and strength of her writing. She also performed some new material which sounds terrific. In the spirit of Patty and the Boss, she even did a cover of Patty's cover of Stolen Car. It was more than apropos considering we were right down the beach from the legendary Stone Pony, Bruce's old stomping ground in Asbury Park.
And I finally got to meet her, which was a real treat. Although I still owe her some pizza. If she lived within reasonable proximity of Brooklyn...
Here are some pics that were taken by Brenda Wirth, who promotes these events in Asbury Park and in Ocean Grove. And thanks to Daniel and Kristin Tito for hosting a great afternoon.
MB...
Much deserved standing O...

Me and MB (okay, MB and I)
MB was not enthused with the beach weather. I took this about two blocks from the house. I don't have the heart to tell her that it's been pretty warm the last two days and will be sunny and pushing 80 tomorrow .
And finally, the boardwalk in Asbury Park was pretty neat too. This is the Casino which was built in the 1920's and used for some scenes in The Wrestler. It's being renovated which is a mixed blessing because it looks pretty damn cool in its state of disrepair.

Wonderful picture! Great that you were able to go, Rob. (And, I'm thinking "Me and MB" is correct).

"Me and MB" is how I would say it, so that's gotta be wrong.
All the photos are great but the one of the two of you is the best.
And I recognize the photos of the casino from the movie.

It was a great afternoon for me --the lovely home, the people and the chance to sing in a comfortable atmosphere unplugged--but one of the best parts was meeting Rob after all these years! Thanks for the review Rob!

Something exciting happened for me this weekend, for the first time I was featured on the Bob Harris show on the BBC. It's the top Americana show there.
And...he even mentions PATTY GRIFFIN, so ain't that nifty?
If you feel like listening, and don't want to hear the whole show (though I find it very nice)....the song is played at aroudn 11 minutes and then the Patty Griffin mention at around 20 minutes in.
