Song Crush

Postby marybeth » Sat Feb 12, 2005 5:35 am

I think it was New_Haven on our old site who introduced the concept of a song crush. I've got a big song crush right now on Kathleen Edward's "Back To Me". It really rocks.

Also Karen Savoca's Taste It from Smit's mix.
Any songs you have a crush on these days?

I love Tegan and Sara and Frou Frou! I listened to "Walking With a Ghost" and "Let Go" endlessly when I first heard them.

Right now, I'm all in love with --

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" -- Green Day
"Since U Been Gone" -- Kelly Clarkson
"Honey and the Moon" -- Joseph Arthur

Coming back again full circle (Marybeth started this thread ages ago with a Kathleen Edwards song), I'm deeply obsessed with Kathleen's song "The Lone Wolf".

Freezes me in my tracks every time I hear it.

Since I've been on a Kathleen Edwards kick since the festival and she seems to be popular in this thread, I've always adored the song Six O'Clock News.

Also He Came To Meet Me- Hem. I can't stop playing this one.

I recently got a crush on a song called "Little Films" from Vanessa Peters. Its so upbeat, I love it. You can hear it on her myspace.

She sounds like Suzanne Vega to me.

I've listened to Cat Power's Nude As the News every day for the last few weeks. Sometimes twice.

I think I've been possessed.

Another Day Full of Dread ~ Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Latter Days ~ Over the Rhine (I've always loved this song, but it's been killin' me the past week or so. I can't stop listening to it.)

"Honey and the Moon" -- Joseph Arthur

Oooh, great song. I'll have to pop that in--I haven't listened to any Joseph Arthur in a long time.
