Fool On Fire wrote:Children Running Through -- Patty Griffin
Armchair Apocrypha -- Andrew Bird
The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter -- Josh Ritter
Challengers -- The New Pornographers
The Reminder -- Feist
The Shepherd's Dog -- Iron & Wine
Saltbreakers -- Laura Veirs
Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga -- Spoon
Trees Outside the Academy -- Thurston Moore
In Our Bedroom After the War -- Stars
Nothing is Okay -- The Everybodyfields
The Scene of the Crime -- Bettye LaVette
In Our Nature -- Jose Gonzalez

Okay, well, that's a top 13, not a top 10. But whatever. (The National's Boxer will also probably worm its way up to the top, as will Gill Landry's The Ballad of Lawless Soirez, MIA's Kala, and Common's Finding Forever. Aesop Rock's None Shall Pass might make it up there too.)

Add to my original list:

Manta Ray -- Siouxsie
Time Without Consequence -- Alexi Murdoch
Help Wanted Nights -- The Good Life
Oneida Road -- The Kamikaze Hearts
Those The Brokes -- The Magic Numbers

...just cuz as the year winds down, I find myself listening to these a lot.

John Butler Trio's "Grand National" is the CD I'm completely hooked on. I haven't felt this way about music since Margot and the Nuclear So and So's "Dust of Retreat". Go out and get it! Now!

Elise, I listen to this and think that it's right up your alley. Try the tunes "Used to Get High", "Fire In the Sky", "Groovin' Slowly", and "Better Than".
