and @ first listen, i'm loving it. very different than "easy tiger."

except for the closer, "stop," which is a stunning solo vocal/piano piece about his struggle with addiction and sobriety, it seems to be much more of a collaborative "band project" than a ryan solo project.

I listened to the new album today, it really rocks!!

In honor of the anniversary of the Cardinals' amazing Halloween show at Hammerstein Balllroom last year, I've uploaded hi-fi mp3s of my never-before-released soundboard recording of the concert for y'all. They were supposed to make a DVD of the show and Ryan's management asked me not to make the full-fidelity recording public so I can't give out CDs, but these sound almost as good! Ryan's soundboards are about the most natural sounding anywhere cuz his engineer uses several audience mics for ambience mixed in with the vocals and instruments.

Enjoy! I'm going to see them again tonight at the Apollo Theater. :D

*sigh* I actually didn't go to the show. My pal Rhonda was supposed to come in from western PA, but her dumb dog ate his leash the night before and she had to stay home with him to make sure it passed through his system. And then our poor rabbit Mr. Keepers died Friday morning (despite my sister the vet's best efforts to save him) and I was all sad and I didn't want Karen to deal with mourning him all alone since the kids were out at costume parties, so I bailed on the show and spent the night at home.

Pets...

Thanks for that info, MB.
If getting away from touring and the life-endangering temptations that will surely do Ryan in, I'm all for it. I love to get a boot or some live recording that rocks but I'd rather know that he's somewhere being creative rather than burning out, which seems to be his pattern.

Ryan and Mandy Moore are engaged. Could explain his lifestyle change...or whatever it is.
