Yes, there's a whole world of music out there besides Patty.

the david rawlings machine @ headliner's, hand's down, the best show i've seen this year...

and yes, it's "dave's show," gillian and the old crow boys are a big part of it but there is no doubt that it's daves' gig.

Saw them last night at the Parish in Austin, fantastic show (not that I'd expect anything less - but better than I've ever seen them).

A few shots:

NIcole- I think Dave Rawlings spoke more in your interview that he's spoken on stage during ALL Gillian Welch live performaces combined from 1993 through 2008! Good to read

Arlene - I have to say, he was the greatest sport about the whole thing. As far as technical difficulties go, it was the interview from hell. The timing was off because it was one of those daisy-chains where each journalist calls at their timeslot but invariably it gets messed up and by the end of it everyone's running late and then the tape was doing weird stuff and we got interrupted by another interview - BUT he was sweet enough to call me back to see if there was anything else I needed to ask and make sure that I had enough for the article. Very impressive.

Hey Bill, Great pictures!

Did you get that Nikon D90, recently ?

Gillian is at the top of my to-see/photograph list and it doesn't look like she's coming over here any time soon...

So, I guess I'll have to figure out a place to go see her in the USA, preferably one that allows photography, next year :D
