Thea Gilmore - That'll be Christmas

I love the guitarist's nod to George Harrison in that tune.

Here's one that indirectly involves Paul McCartney. He used this last name as a psyeudonym. And since these guys were huge fans of the Beatles, they ended up using it to name the band. So Paul will always be an unoffical member.

I thought I'd ressurrect this extremely popular thead (cough) with one of my favourite, none cheesey, Christmas songs.

"You scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot, happy Christmas your arse? I pray god it's our last"

Pure brilliance

Happy Christmas (war is over) - John Lennon

That video is such a bummer, Ian.

I think Celine Dion's version, where the whole "war is over" part is basically exorcised from the song, is far more uplifting during our holiday season. I mean why should Celine trouble people with John Lennon's overarching message? It's not like "war is over if you want it" is a big part of what he was saying. And after all, it IS Christmas and there ARE Celine Dion albums to be sold.

You should be ashamed of yourself!

Yes Rob, now you've pointed it out, I see what a killjoy I'm being.

I went straight to the Youtube clip of Celine's to praise her on cheerying up the song and decluttering it of any antiwar sentiment.
But go figure... adding comments wasn't allowed, so I'll just have to slip on my hair shirt and beat myself with mulberry twigs (again).

Btw mate, I see you resisted posting U2's chrimbo offering?

and as if to dilute the interest in this thread even further...

here's something only a select few of the few will be able to enjoy.

"Hey Santa... pass us that bottle will ya?"

I wondered why comments were disabled as I would have been nothing but complimentary.

The hair shirt and mulberry twigs are not enough. You need to slip into an Iron Maiden as well (yes, a triple entendre).

And even though looking back it has an unintentional air of the Crusades about it, does this count for U2?
