Shindell played at Club Passim Thursday night & Friday, March 34&5, 2005.

http://www.clubpassim.org/

I'm told the club streams its audio online (IS a "Listen Live" icon on the site).
My virtual seat at the show is B4; please join me (but don't talk during the show!)

I visited the site while Richard was playing, but the stream wouldn't work for me. Some folks from the Shindell "forum" had the same problem.

I uploaded an mp3 of "Arrowhead"

http://rapidshare.de/files/8476207/06_A ... 3.mp3.html

rapidshare seems to have several advantages over yousendit (in my limited experience): uploading is much faster and reliable, one just uploads (rather than e-mailing to a specific address) and gets a http link in return.
Rapidshare keeps the files until there has been no activity for 30 days.

On the other hand, rapidshare seems rather obnoxious in its solicitations to upgrade to a Premium acct. and there are NO pictures on the site of sexy feet or shoes.

Or what about a Shindell myspace group???

http://groups.myspace.com/richardshindellfans

Any Pattynetters are certainly welcome to join mb & I; I didn't actually invite individuals since I'm not aware who else is a Shindell fan.

Used to love Richard. Then my father began to love Richard. Then my father demanded to listen to Richard every single time I was with him. Then I got sick of Richard. Then I stopped listening to Richard for a long time.

Well, I think he's probably going to cover Jeff's "Northbound 35" on his next record, so I'll probably pick that up and we'll see how it goes. I'll just have to keep the record from my father. Like I did when I noticed my father had grown to like Hem.

FYI. For all of you Richard Shindell fans, (and you know who you are) he has a new CD of covers coming out, South of Delia, that will be available on his web site in mid March but won't be available elsewhere until mid-May See http://richardshindell.com/index.php?page=home

Track List:

Acadian Driftwood - Robbie Robertson
Señor (Tales of Yankee Power) - Bob Dylan
The Humpback Whale - Harry Robertson
Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
Mercy Street - Peter Gabriel
The Storms are on the Ocean - A.P. Carter
Northbound 35 - Jeffrey Foucault
Sitting on Top of the World - trad./arr. Shindell
Texas Rangers - trad./arr. Shindell
Deportee - Woody Guthrie
Solo le Pido a Dios - Leon Gieco
Lawrence, Kansas - Josh Ritter

(Adam- I used a special computer so that your father won't be able to see this post. And you were right about the Jeffrey Foucault cover.)
"You've got to sing like you don't need the money, love like you'll never get hurt. You've got to dance like no one is watching. It's gotta come from the heart, if you want it to work."
~Susannah Clark

"Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels." ~Molly Ivins

"If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner."
~Tallulah Bankhead

I got an email from Adam's father---
Hello Everyone,

I'm ridiculously happy to report that Not Far Now will soon be shipping. This will occur in three stages:

a) First, anyone who preordered as part of the Record Finance Program will receive their copy (along with the bonus cd, called Mariana's EP) BEFORE March 10. Thanks to all of you for waiting so patiently while the creaky wheels of industry here at Amalgamated Balladry grind - slowly but inexorably - into motion, just as capitalism itself seems to be grinding to a halt. Good timing, eh? Any other merchandise you may have coming to you (t-shirts, posters, recipes for risotto) will be shipped separately, later in March. You'll be receiving another email regarding this.

b) Everyone else may begin preordering (from the Online Store at www.richardshindell.com, or by clicking on the cover image) as of right now. But those orders won't begin shipping until March 10.

c) April 7 is our official "street date" for the big online retailers, digital services, and what's left of brick-and-mortar retail.

Adam's dad is thrilled.

Refresh my memory please? What were the financing details of the latest CD??
I vaguely remember RS asking for $$ via the record finance program, but is Signature Sounds totally out of the picture?

Similar to what several artists are doing these days -- I know both Kris Delmhorst and Mark Erelli have done it -- Richard put out an offer to his fans to help finance his record. For a sliding scale of contributions, he'd give the new CD, new CD plus bonus EP plus T-shirt, personal guitar lessons, his recipe for risotto, free passes to shows, a house concert, even paint your house.

I do think that Signature is involved, but just from a distribution standpoint.

Thanks for the memories♩♪
There's someone on MySpace talking about a Shindell house concert:
"Huiss concerts Vlierden

After years of creating stimuli, we finally managed to lure Richard into doing a house concert in our living room in Vlierden, the Netherlands (may 31st 2009).
If you have a chance to drop by, just let us know upfront via hans.van.huisseling@upcmail.nl"

Guess they were generous contributors........

And you might notice, their living room is newly painted.
