Richard Shindell

Yes, there's a whole world of music out there besides Patty.

I just received my preordered copy and, according to the envelope, it was sent by 'signature sounds'....

I'm still waiting for his risotto recipe, though...

I've got tickets to see him may 30th in my home town (John Gorka, Eliza Gilkyson & Rachel Harrington will also be at the same gig :D )

Marcel

I got an email from Signature Sounds announcing a special Shindell package for $30--the new CD, the EP of alternate takes (that was sent to record finance boosters) and the Antje Duvekot CD that Richard produced.
They were boasting a bit how they had the CDs BEFORE the official release date.
If one didn't know the background of the record finance program, this would appear like a perfectly conventional Signature release.

Risotto was available at additional charge.

I know, I invested 100$... (So I'm not expecting Richard to paint my house)

I don't care much about the risotto recipe
I was a bit disappointed by the whole preorder process...
I got no emails, no message in the envelope. I got a signed cd and an ep.

When I preordered Vanessa Peters' new CD, earlier, I got a personal thank you message and access to preliminary mixes of some songs during the recording process.. Which I enjoyed very much...

I don't know how other artists handle this...

Well, Richard did thank CD financiers in the liner notes, but yeah, I would have expected something a little more personal in the envelope. Mark Erelli sent individually-autographed posters with his "fan-financed" release.

Richard has recently sung "Satan's Jewel Crown".
He sang it for the first time EVER June 1, 2009 with Fayssoux Starling McLean (who is opening for his current tour) and sang it solo June 2.

Thanks for the song, T_Y.

I would love to hear the one with Fayssoux singing harmony.
