Here's a song that I hope you all don't think is too worn out.
I've wanted to record this ever since I first heard it years ago.
I hardly ever play it because it's tuned to open 'G' - and I'm too lazy to futz with tuning.

...This weekend I finally futzed.

A little Nanci Griffith to enjoy.

( remember to copy the link and paste in the URL window to play )

( ...oh yea, let me know if the harmonies are a bit much )

Wow, I really like this one Smit! The guitar work is impressive and your voice fits well to the song. The harmonies are certainly NOT too much. This is one of my favorites of yours.

Oh, and skiing was fun!

Smit.. listening as I type here. I LOVE this song. I hadn't heard it in a really long time. This version is
fantastic! Gorgeous guitar and vocal work, as always! I LOVE harmony, and you do such a wonderful job with it. This one will be played a lot. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks Angela.
I'm alwasy afraid that I over-produce stuff.

When it comes to recording I'm sort of anally retentive in an obsessive compulsive way.

By the way...
Speaking of obsessive compulsive...
I CANNOT take my eyes off your avatar!

What a great photo.

Smit,

One of my very favorite Nanci songs, and you do it incredible justice. I just listened to it about 5 times in a row...a perfect end to a rather blah Monday at work. ;) The harmony is gorgeous...the guitarwork is perfect...and I love your voice, mang! :D This is a really great rendition of this song.

You MUST come to PattyFest, dagnabbit! I was so looking forward to singing with you! *sulks*

I spent most of the day working through this thread and FINALLY getting caught up, and there is some REALLY great stuff in here. Applause to everyone!

Thanks very much Melissa.
I love this song too and I'm glad I finally did it.
( now if I can just stop tweaking it! - UGH...I'm hopeless )

I was talking about PattyFest to my wife the other night
and told her that I'm not sure as to what I'm more anxious for...

Seeing Patty...or singing with my PattyFriends!! :D

Seriously...My favorite thing in the world is to play guitar and sing songs with my friends.
( okay, maybe my SECOND favorite thing - the number one slot is pretty much untouchable  )

But I digress.

Anway, I get goosebumps just thinking about recording all of us singing together.
( SHIVER )
Man would that be COOL!!!!

There is SO much wonderful talent here!!
I'll be SO bummed if I can't go.

Thanks again Y'all

I'm doing some serious catch up on this thread, so I'll start by saying Smit, great work! I love your guitar work and as always, the vocals are wonderful. I've listened to this 3 times now. This makes me really excited!

I've gotta go back and listen to some more...
It's the same old thirst for more
