Fuck YEAH! Love that cd. :D

everybody's got a little hole in the middle
everybody does a little dance with the devil

I miss you, Carly,
I've become the beggar now, and you've become the saint somehow
twist the words and place the blame, and tell me now, aren't we the same?

-- Amy Ray

born under a bad sign, been down since I began to crawl
if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

-- Albert King

the saints and all the martyrs look down on dying converts
"what makes the water holy," she said, "is that it's the closest thing to rain..."

-- Josh Ritter

...the blues is the roots...everything else is the fruits...

Anybody seen my bell bottoms??? (I suspect growing my hair to shoulder length isn't in the cards anymore.)

It's just so groovy, baby. ;)

Right On, Moon Unit.
Uriah Heep and Thin Lizzy are currently touring together. Perhaps is IS the 70s (or the first sign of the apocalypse).

the long ryders- state of our union
tarbox ramblers
continental drifters- vermilion
crooked still- still crooked
tracy chapman- our bright future
the last shadow puppets- my mistakes were made for you

... the new tracy chapman is surprisingly good...surprising in a way that i never thought i'd say that about a new tracy chapman in 2008.
step up and bless the mic

Elton John's Captain Fantastic.

I could go on and on, but I'll just say- I love it like mad!

My suitcase it's a cheap one
My darlin' she's a dear one
And my head is feeling light as a feather

I don't know but I'm set to find out, I don't know but I'm a gonna find out

I unearthed a KeithfromNY 2006 mix "Wrinkled By Time" and enjoyed many of the blasts from the past. For me, it's always interesting to revisit older songs to see which ones still hold up and which sound dated. Much as I loved the song when first released, Phil Ochs' "Circle of Friends" sounded pretty old yesterday.

Shawn Colvin "Few Small Repairs"
Rickie Lee Jones "Pop Pop"
Richard Shindell "Blue Divide"
Julia Fordham "Porcelain"
