I didn't think it was possible for me to respect and love Amy any more than I already do - and then I saw this on her website over at Daemon Records:

Hello Everyone-
I am putting out an appeal for some help with a poor little abused dog. I have exhausted many rescue avenues so far but am trying not to lose hope. If anyone out there wants to help out let us know.

I am trying to find a place that will take a 3 year old female black and white Pit Bull. She was rescued from an abusive situation where she was kept locked in a very small room and starved for a while. She is receiving vet attention and is responding very well. They expect her to make a complete physical comeback. We are going to have to find a place to put her as soon as they are done with her. Despite her abuse she appears to be very friendly still, but is petrified to be left alone. She will need some extra care for a while for her emotional well being. She is not spayed but we are willing to pay for that as well as help out with other expenses for a while. She can't be placed in a home with children or cats, and although she was with 2 other dogs, it is not known how she will respond to stranger dogs.

If you know anywhere that might take her or anyone that would interested in helping out let me know.
I would keep her but I am currently at my limit with 7 cats and 4 dogs-many of them with special needs.

PLease write us at dog@daemonrecords.com

Yours in dog,
Amy Ray

Be still my heart. She is such a wonderful lady.

This post is in response to a question asked by Kevin in the another thread.

The Girls are not on tour right now, b/c Amy is hoofing it solo around the country to promote her new album (which RULES, and everyone should buy). When they do get back on the road, they will most likely be touring acoustic duo. (My favorite way to see them. :D )

They are playing a few new songs; there's one new song of Emily's that has only been done during a sound check, and they are breaking out some of the older songs as well - "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters," "Winthrop" (which was cut from Shaming of the Sun), etc. I think they are doing that because they are set to release an album of rarities pretty soon, which will be their last album on Epic Records. After that, who knows? :) I'm excited to see how they do the indie thang...I'm sure Daemon Records will play a big part in how they handle being independent artists again.

Any way you stack it, IG fans have some cool things to look forward to,
~Elise

Thanks Elise. You always come through for me!

I'll try to post set lists as they happen. So the West Coast gets Amy and the I Girls but no Patty.....

This one of my favorite Elton John songs ever. It is a beautiful and amazingly written song, I am very curious to see how they treat it. I do have faith that they will do a great job with it because it is such a wonderful song.
How lovely and how doomed this connection of everyone with lungs.

Melissa,

I know, it's one of my favorite Elton songs as well. (I grew up listening to his version on Honky Chateau, haha.) But Amy and Emily do an incredible version of it...they add all this lovely harmony and turn it into an acoustic guitar song. It's really beautiful.

Personally, I am really excited about "Let Me Go Easy" and "Winthrop." LMGE was a new Amy song that was originally supposed to be on their last album, All That We Let In. But it got cut, and now the Indigo community will finally have a clean copy, yay!!! "Winthrop" was an Emily song that was supposed to be on Shaming of the Sun, but it also got cut, for reasons unknown. And Emily's new song, "Walk Your Valley," which so far she has only played during sound checks, is on there.

The other one that I'm really happy to see made the cut for Rarities is "It Won't Take Long." That is an ass-kicking protest song that you can scream along to...it's completely empowering. I love it.

Is it totally lame that I already have all the tracks on this album, but I'm still going to buy it?,

Good point. ;)

The only question left to ask is, why haven't YOU - yes, I'm talking to you, person sitting at your computer reading this message - preordered this yet?

First of all, where in the hell is Champion, PA? LOL! I have no idea. Secondly, I'm going to be in Myrtle Beach at a conference that weekend and most of the following week. Piss! :P DAMN, that would've been SO much fun! Bleh! Oh well...next time around, I hope! I was hoping to catch them this summer somewhere, but it's not looking favorable with my travel schedule for work. Sigh.

But thanks for the heads up on the comp disc...it'll be great to have a lot of this stuff in CD quality after only having it on boots for years and years (some of which I only have on TAPE...yikes!).

Oh, POO. Well, never mind...it was a long shot anyway. :) Someday we'll have to go to a show together - it would be crazy fun. But we might scare Amy and Emily. hahaha.

Still, I can't believe it - I get to go to 4 (maybe even 5) IG shows this summer. Wow. That is just godly. At this point I believe in a benevolent deity. :D

The thin horizon of the plan is almost clear,

*squees* I might actually get to see them this year!

On another note, spring/summer is such a good time to listen to IG. I've been bringing out all the stuff I have of theirs and listening to it recently. :)

I...um...I can't talk about this show yet. I am still shaking really badly from the experience and I keep making mistakes when I type and then I have to go back and fix them and if I think about the show too much my heart will stop. I was about 4 feet from Amy the entire time. I got her setlist and she smiled at me and...and...ohshit. I can't keep it together anymore.

Somebody please pop me with a tranquilizer gun,
