If you could ask Patty anything….

Postby lily » Fri Jan 15, 2010 2:13 pm

Here's the thing - if you could ask Patty anything, what would it be? I *might* (fingers and toes crossed but no promises yet) get a chance to interview her for my site but I have NO idea what to ask her, mostly because I feel it'd be boring to ask about how the album came about and how she got the idea and who her gospel influences are when she's been talking about it since like what… at least August of last year.

SO, what would you ask her?

*Get on her good side right off the bat and ask about her dogs. Are they going on tour with her this time?

*Ask her if how it feels to sing with Julie Miller and if she feels the magic like Turk does.

*When can we expect another record of originals?

*Ask her if "Move Up" was written as the theme song for a remake of The Jeffersons.

Turk - the dogs are always first on the agenda… esp. with the Peanut history. :)
I like the one on Julie and of course, original material.

As a redhead, I think Patty would join Team Conan.

But I don't think Patty would state that publicly, seeing as she's appeared on both shows. And some people at NBC are proving to be pretty vindictive.

Then again, she could throw caution to the wind and wear one of those "I'm with Coco" t-shirts.

But I'm revising my question: ask her about the incomparable Mahalia Jackson. Mavis was more than inspired by the Queen of Gospel.

Ummm how about

What would you be doing if you weren't a musician (and if its something completely different would music still be as big a part of her life)

Ask her if she feels like she has to be sad to write a sad song, and if she does does it make it any easier than say when she is happy to write a sad song.

Ask her if she stops writing songs for awhile is it easy to just pick up songwriting or does she constantly have to be writing?

Which is easier to write a sad song or a happy song or does it matter?

If she could pick any song to put on the next album what would it be?

Or if she could cover any song what would it be?

And thats all I have for now. Good luck I hope you get to interview Patty!

What are some of your favorite unreleased songs?

What songs do you think are your biggest fan favorites?

Are there any areas/ states that you enjoy playing shows in the most?

Nichole, you know you can always count on my help. ;)

1. Where, oh where did you leave yourself today?

2. Any comment on the industry rumor that Stuart Duncan is on steroids?

3. If you rearrange the first letters of Love Throw A Line, they spell "TALL". Is that significant?

4. Does Raul Malo really sing, or is he lip-synching to unreleased Roy Orbison records?

5. What was the inspiration for Little Kites? No, not the fan... the song. Does it have anything to do with Mary Poppins?

6. Did you and Doug Lancio ever get it on after a particularly hot show?

7. Perfect White Girls: What the hell is THAT about?

8. Did you ever imagine Bette Midler would capture the spirit of Moses so perfectly?

9. Is it true your featured role in Elizabethtown was so small because you refused to sleep with Cameron Crowe?

10. Did you suspect what Bryn Davies was doing behind you onstage before the ((( artists den ))) DVD came out?

11. Was it your bit part in Last Tango In Paris as DISTURBED DANCE HALL BYSTANDER #4 that led to J'irai La Voir Un Jour?

12. So can we look forward to Uptown Hip-Hop?

I'm still trying to figure out how Bruce and Turk got together and managed to make that post using Keith's name and computer account.

You definitely came to the right place for guidance, Nichole. It looks like you're pretty well covered now. I certainly can't think of anything useful to add.

This is a trilogy after all, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.

It's painfully obvious to any serious Patty fan that Midtown Muzak will precede Uptown Hip-Hop.

Also how about

What is one thing most people don't know about you?

What advice would you give to aspiring singers/songwriters?

Were to you get your inspiration for your songs?

I'm not saying these are questions she would want to answer, but ones I would like to know the answer to:

I would really like to know more about Patty's early years in Florida. What did she do there? Did she go to college? Was she already writing songs when she was there?

Some people were in love with the Patty who rocked on Flaming Red and Silver Bell. Are we going to see that Patty again?

Does Patty listen much to other contemporary singer-songwriters?
