Despite having the album for years, enjoying it, sharing it, etc., I'm still excited that it will be released and I'm sure I will get it immediately if possible.
If I died, he'd hear about it, eventually.

Amazon has Silver Bell up for pre-order now, delivery 24 Sept. I suppose the music will be identical to what we already have, but it would be good for Patty to get the royalties she deserves.

It looks from the press release that the date has been pushed back a few weeks and that it's NOT the original track listing we know and love. Who know's what song "Fragile" might be?

This press release says Silver Bell was "newly mixed by legendary producer Glyn Johns" Standing and Making Pies seem to have been replaced by Fragile and So Long. Does anyone know anything about either one?

not happy about the altered track list, and what's up with that cover?

Firstly, WOW

Secondly, I am ecstatic So Long is going to be released. I had given up hope on that one, but I think it is one of Patty's best songs. Now if I could just get her to put another 14 unreleased masterpieces on an album...

I just went through a couple live versions of So Long (assuming it’s the same one from way back) to see what commentary Patty gave on it. She was playing So Long at the same time as the other Silver Bell songs, so the inclusion of it does make sense. The last show I have with So Long on the tracklist was from the Singer Songwriter tour.

In one show she mentions that it was partly inspired by seeing Johnny Cash play Telluride one year. In another she mentioned that she didn’t play it often, but wrote it with the voice of Kelly Willis in mind and meant to play it for her to see if she wanted the song. In that same intro she said the song was inspired by an old house she was living in in Texas. Just some insight. Regardless, it is a beautiful song and I think it will go well with the re-mastered Silver Bell.

I have always thought that the version of Standing from Silver Bell was identical to the one on Impossible Dream. If it isn't, it's pretty darn close. And I am not a big fan of the SB version of Making Pies. And we all have Silver Bell anyway :) So I'm all for new tracks :) As for the cover, it doesn't seem very "Patty" to me, but then again, how much time do I spend looking at CD covers? Hmm, not very much :) So yay two new Patty songs :)

I've pre-ordered mine! Not sure about the album cover art, though.
