Tribeca Film Festival Show

Postby Rob » Thu May 04, 2006 7:22 pm

Went to the Tribeca show today at the Canal Room. Each performer had about half an hour and Patty did a six song set. She was great, as usual.

Icicles
I Said To The Sky
Staying on the Ride
Makin Pies
Peaceful Valley
No Bad News

The crowd was bit noisy nearing the end of the set, but No Bad News quieted them down and Patty got a huge ovation when she was done.

John Mayer followed Patty and did a nice set, too. He was playing a lot of new stuff, as well.

Thanks Kelsea and Tonto! Those are nice shots. Although Patty seems to be frowning in that second one. It was those loud people that wouldn't shut up during Peaceful Valley!

This is the guy who played before Patty. His name is Martin Luther. Not only does he have the look, he's got the goods that match it. I had never heard of him until I saw him at the show and he is absolutely worth checking out.

Oh yeah Martin Luther is awesome. He has a new record out that we've been featuring on our contemporary grind mix at Starbucks...it's called Rebel Soul Music. It's definitely worth an investment. :) Think Corey Harris meets Ben Harper, with a little bit of old-school James Brown thrown in.

Beautiful pix of Patty!
