Three Girls & Their Buddy - Telluride (06/18)

Postby lily » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:08 pm

Who's going? Who might go? Who wants to go?

I just got my press badge confirmed, so I'm in. It'd be great to have a meet up with whoever else is going and perhaps think about lodging options - I'm not entirely sure where I'm staying yet.

This years line-up is amazing and has SO many opportunities for really nifty guest spots for Patty - there's Emmylou's solo set and Todd Snider's set and of course the possibility for a park set with Emmy or someone else (Emmy's done one the last few times I've been) and maybe even John Cowan or something else.

Excited.

ETA: Wow, sorry for all the bounciness there - caffeine + new meds + lack of food and sleep = a super hyper me.

Lily-

Did you see that Gillian Welch has just been attended to the lists of artists scheduled to perform at the the Telluride Bluegrass Festival this year?

Hmm, I haven't heard that one, but I did hear she was playing the Lyons Folk Fest - in August.

Arlene, are you still considering going to TBG?

Unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely that I'll be going out this year.

And sorry, I had misread the email from Planet Bluegrass. Gillian and Dave will be at the Folks Fest but NOT Telluride.

Thanks for the great write-up and photos, Nichole! Glad you had a nice time!

My favorite part:
“You know, it’s a sad thing,” Buddy said. “I mean, I’m a lucky guy. In many ways this is the most incredible stage. Great beautiful voices, beautiful women to travel with but with this many girls you start becoming one.”

hahah

A few notes from Telluride that I didn't put in the post -

Patty totally was having way much fun on the drums. Just going whole hog with the playing. It was cute.

The duet on Gasoline and Matches - HOT.

And the Samson and Delilah was the best I've heard.

Emmylou did Moon Song - flubbed some words - during her solo set.

There was no more Patty anywhere - I think she might have left…
