I was there.Wonderful concert. Patty in very good form and igood humor. I was told that various family members from Old Town and other parts of Maine came and had gone out to dinner with Patty before the concert. I kept looking around to see if I could spot any Paattyish looking people, but didn't.

The WatervilleOpera House has a nice, small early 20th century auditorium with a balcony, in the process of being restored. Seats about 500 people, perhaps less. Looked like a full house. I had a very good seat, fifth row, one seat from the aisle.
Patty's band last night (and perhaps for all the concerts on this tour?:
Craig Ross on bass guitars, John Deaderick on piano and accordian - both of whom have been involved with Patty's music for a long time, and Davi d Pulkingham on electric and aucoustic guitars and occasionally drums. He was in Alejandro Escovedo's band for about seven years before deciding to go out on his own. Has played a few times with Patty and Robert. though a real guitar virtuoso I thought he was too much of a show-boat for my taste.

Set list:
Carry Me
Ohio
Don't Let Me Die in Florida
Wild Old dog
Chief
Flaming Red
The band left the stage to Patty for
Irish Boy (she played pioano on this one)
Top of the World P on guitar
No Bad News P on guitar
Band comes back for
Faithful Son
Love Throw a Line
Standing
Go Where You Wanna Go
Get REady Marie
That Kind of Lonely
Gonna Miss You When Youre Gone
Encores:\
Railroad Wings
Strange Man
Coming Home to Me - Patty got almost through when she sudeenly stopped and confessed she had totally forgotten the last few lines. Sympathetic laughter and much applause.

A very generous concert. Patty on stage giving it her all without a break exept at the end before the encores.

I did wish, however, that the sound people hadn't turned up the volume on the mikes quite so much (or whatever it is they do to make everything as loud as possible). It was verging on distortion sometimes.

I .seriously underestimated the opera house's capacity; its website says 800 .

Yes, Jane, thanks for the report!

Too bad the guitar player was a little too flashy. Maybe the ensemble will gel along the way, if they're the permanent tour players.

Well, Patty and the other 2 guys on stage seemed to be enjoying him. Guess the problem is mine. Hate to see anyone upstaging our Patty!
