She played most of the new record and the other songs she played included:
Standing
Move Up
Never Grow Old
Irish Boy
Mother of God
Truth #2

She also played an old Mexican song by some songwriter I can't recall that featured some amazing guitar work. Was cool to hear her sing in Spanish again.

show was great as usual.

Finally managed to figure out my old screenname and password!

Patty was great the other night--her voice was amazing and she was..."groovier" than I've ever seen her on stage? She danced around more than I remember, but it had been five years since I last saw her.

I agree that not getting any songs from the early albums was a total bummer. So, while the show was great and I'm glad I went, it felt different from the Patty shows I used to go to. I felt more of a connection to the music back then, it was more personal. I might have felt differently if the album wasn't so new if that makes sense...if I'd had more time to make a more personal connection to some of the music. I left the show with lots of emotions though, that's for sure!

edit: I was totally stoked to hear Truth #2, though. I don't think I've ever seen her play that one live.

I agree with Patty being looser. I think she's more comfortable onstage and she has a better rapport with the audience and everything about it is great, except I agree that I miss having some of the old songs.

I'm really enjoying the new album. I like it more than the last one by a lot and also much more than the gospel album, but the pacing of the show was tough with so many slow, sad songs. She incorporated a few upbeat songs but the bulk of the set dragged a bit. Truth #2 needed to show up sooner to break it up. Could have thrown in No Bad News somewhere, maybe Flaming Red or One Big Love or Makin' Pies or Chief even. But, hey, I appreciate that Patty keeps moving forward and I'm happy she seems to be in a good place and she's still performing and still willing to make a statement.
