Boston Meetup...sort of

Um...hullo...

I have been horribly lax and lame on setting up a pre-show gathering for this Friday's Boston show! I have all sorts of excuses at the ready, but the bottom line is, I did not get it done. And for that, I apologize!

Anyone who was or was not at last year's wonderful bash who wants to contact me, please do so at pattygriffinfan@aol.com and maybe a few of us can get together for a bite before the show. But no private dining room or anything this time.

BOSTON PRE-SHOW GATHERING

Okay...here's what we have...

Any Boston-show fans who want to meet up before the show...go to the Silvertone Bar & Grille at 69 Bromfield Street - right around the corner from the Orpheum. This joint is downstairs and I am hoping there is a not a huge Friday-after-work crowd, but there may be.

I think we will be there at 5 or so until I guess close to 7...when we will be walking over.

Not sure how we all will identify each other - am open to ideas. Needless to say, do not be shy!

It may be a little late now, but...

If you want to identify another PattyFreak (I just can't resist a good Patty___), these items are a great way to do so! And they support the site! It's win-win!

PS: However, I do NOT recommend sticking the bumper sticker to your forehead. That's just not going to come off easily.

We should wear stickers on our shirts, or sew Ps to them. I doubt I'll have time for sewing though!

Wear a big hat and we can all look out for you.

Hey Melissa, you coming??

Oh yes, I'll be there. :) In fact, John and I should be arriving together, so at least we'll be able to find you since I know what you look like! :)

Silvetone huh? Okay - there probably will be a huge crowd after work but who cares!! Just pile in. If I make it on time I will be the very tall blonde - I don't have any pictures to add but that should be enough. Plus I have already met John in front of the Berkley Performance Center last year so I should be able to recognize him although I couldn't remember the place we were supposed to meet last year so who knows???
If I don't meet up with you all - enough the show!!

Okay,

I'm still totally exhausted from last evening, or this morning, if we are being technical.

A few of us met up at Silvertone. It was Don Hen, John, Melissa, me, and Michael, who is new to the boards. (I guess being as crowded as it was, we missed a few peeps)

We met Skip at the bar, and between all of us convinced him to take my extra ticket, though he'd never heard of Patty before. I sat in Arlene's place next to Melissa, and one row behind Rob! We did not see Skip to get his response, but as Don said, he's crazy if he didn't like it! (Skip ended up in John's place in the third row.)

Patty was so excited to be playing the Orpheum in Boston, she mentioned several times how cool it was for her, since the spent ten years here, and saw some awesome shows at the Orpheum. Her parents and nieces were in the audience.

She did Long Ride Home, which was awesome, since she had not done it in Albany! My faves are still the sexier, Silver Bell, and Standing. She seemed more chatty than in Albany, and made lots of RedSox jokes, and Boston references. The MLK song was the second encore again. (Amazing) All of the new songs are brilliant. patty wore a sheer red blouse, and black skirt.

Crowd was great, Don said maybe the biggest Patty only crowd to date?

Our meetup was awesome. Went out drinking after. Michael is great, hope he joins us at PattyNet! I stayed at the hotel with Melissa. . . the whole night was super fun! Missed everyone!

More later?. . .

I loved the dark, psychedelic new arrangement of Silver Bell.
