Patty Tribute Thread

Postby Browncoat » Mon Jan 24, 2005 11:00 pm

For the uninitiated...

Patty Tribute Thread is where we post our unworthy tributes to the lovely Patty Griffin. This thread was originally started by (our goddess) Gillian, over on Pg.net. It's her baby, so here it is...

You can catch up at...

I posted this song the week of Jan. 17 over at PG.Net...

I dedicated this song to the moderators and all of the friends that I had made over there.

I think it is a fitting song to play here as well.

So...This is for Gillian ( THANK YOU! ) and all the rest of you PGforum members...

Some of the threads won't allow me to listen. It sends me directly to angelfire. I don't know what to do from there so some help would be awesome. I don't want to miss out.

Ok, so I decided to post another Patty tribute in honor of my going to my first Patty concert! But it's taken a while to get something together I can live with.

I chose Poor Man's House cause Smit once asked me to sing it and Rob H. likes it, so those are two good reasons. But I didn't find it that easy to sing! Oh also sorry there are some spots where the guitar is a weeny bit out of tune.

Marybeth - great job on Poor Man's House, one of my favorites from LWG, and have fun at your first Patty show!

Sandi - It's been too long! Thanks for posting again - I could listen to you for hours. You keep getting better!

Sandi,

What a beautiful, sweet version of "What You Are." You had a nice solid strum going there, and the vocals sound really clear and confident. Outstanding!! Going to listen to "Buck Naked Heart" now! :)

Ooh..I see Marybeth posted one as well. Yayyyy!! I'm so happy to see this thread revived!

Hmmm for some reason, I'm having trouble getting your songs downloaded, Sandi. I'll keep trying.
Marybeth, once again, WOW! I really love how you've made every song unique! I can always tell, before the first line is finished, I'm gonna enjoy the song! And who here doesn't always sing along when "Poor Man's House" is sung? Thanks MB!

aw Scott thanks so much!

Sandi, again I'm amazed how quickly you progress on the guitar! And you've also get your own personal style that's emerging. I really enjoyed listening.
