Jones-ing for the Silver Bell

Postby jdlofgren » Fri May 04, 2007 4:25 pm

Hello everyone, My name is Jeff and I live in Nashville. I am a huge Patty Griffin fan and have been listening to her since she released Living With Ghosts, many, many years ago.

I have been looking for the Silver Bell CD for quite a while and recently discovered this website and forum where copies were traded. I was also hoping to get a copy from one of you fellow Patty Griffin fans.

I also have many CD's (none by Patty unfortunately) that are either out of print or bootlegged from many artists and will gladly return the favor.

I actually had my first date with my now wife at a Patty Griffin concert in Nasville. I believe it was at the outdoor Uptown Mix in 2002 as she was touring to support the 1,000 Kisses release. She, too, is a huge fan of Patty. We have seen her live every year she has been to the Ryman Auditorium, including last night (5/3/06) and she was unbelievable. I had chills the entire night and kept wanting to hear just one more song! The set list is included below:

"Get Yourself Another Fool”
“Stay On the Ride”
“Trapeze”
“Useless Desires”
“Burgundy Shoes”
"Poor Man's House"
“Don’t Come Easy”
“No Bad News”
“Love Throws a Line”
“Heavenly Day”
“I Don’t Ever Give Up”
“Up to the Mountain (MLK Song)”
“Truth #2”
“Nobody’s Crying”
“Rain”
“Getting Ready”

These are just the songs I remembered and might have missed one or two though.

We were even in the audience when she recorded the live CD/DVD of A Kiss in Time. I remember the curtains caught on fire when Buddy and Julie Miller were on stage. I thought they were going to evacuate the building. Some people actually got up and left the concert. Patty literally burned down the Ryman that night!

I also enjoy listening to many, many, other artists and various styles of music. I was the Music Coordinator for the Nashville Predators Hockey Club for 6 years and a DJ all through college so music has always interested me.

I also enjoy playing golf, biking and playing with our 3 dogs (Pate, Theo and Jake), Sheltie, Shih Tzu and Maltese respectively.
