I just ordered tickets to Patty's show at Calvin via internet. It's May 4, 8pm.
It looked like there were plenty of seats left. I'm completely excited - my first Patty show ever!

My first Patty show didn't disappoint. Excellent seats - 2nd row - I couldn't have been happier - I had a clear view of Patty the entire time.
Charanga Cakewalk was okay - I thought they were good but it's not my thing, really. It was very cute to see Patty join them for the last song, though.
What else...I've never been to the Calvin before - it's very pretty. If I had known there wouldn't be any "security" I would have brought my camera. And recording equipment but I don't have any.
She sounded gorgeous, of course. She was charming and classy.
And it was great - I brought a friend who doesn't know of Patty(except what I've gone on and on about) and she really liked it...a possible convert.
Setlist:
The French song - I don't know the name of it
Wade in the Water
No Bad News - I really loved this
When It Don't Come Easy
Useless Desires
Long Ride Home
MLK-inspired song - beautiful - I hope this makes it to a record
*I don't know the name of this song but it has the second line about being an old man's daughter - can anyone help with this?
Kite Song
Up or Down
Silver Bell - great, sexy version!
Love Throw a Line
Standing
Top of the World
Making Pies - Patty mentioned the this was one of the few places she wouldn't have to explain "Table Talk"
Encore:
Tears of a Clown - I wasn't looking forward to this(I dislike Smokey Robinson) but Patty made me love it
Getting Ready
Icicles Falling - a beautiful, touching way to end

Was it Poor Man's House, Liz?
(since she did it at the Albany show. Although you'd know that one!!)

Nope. It was a new song - I just couldn't figure out the name. I'll check other show set lists - maybe it will pop out at me.

The one she usually does during the solo set is Light It Up/I'm Crying Over, but I don't believe the second line has anything to do with being an old man's daughter.
Light it, baby Light up that fire I don't know what's gonna save me From the cold night
Sound familiar?

Hmm... was just thinking, maybe it could have been "Free." I don't remember the lyrics to that one too well, so that's a possibility.

Yes, I think it was Free. Because now I remember hearing that part about the daughter and then hearing "free" and realizing that must be the name of it. But I forgot to write it down.
Thanks, Gillian! You're a genius!
