I'm absolutely loving Harpo's Ghost. gotta go back and get the others now.
If I died, he'd hear about it, eventually.

Yay Jon! How cool that you're sold on Thea. Have you bought any others yet? I'd recommend The Lipstick Conspiracies (especially since you love Harpo's Ghost so much, TLC is probably the most similar to that one) and Rules for Jokers, but really you can't go wrong with any of 'em.
I keep finding new songs to love on HG. Recently it's been "Whistle and Steam" and "Contessa." But the whole damn thing is just golden. Thea sounds so confident and energetic and fiery. Gahhh. LOVE IT.
geeking out,
~Elise

I've been learning to play "Contessa." Gotta love a song that is only 3 chords yet is so undeniably awesome. I was thinking that this song is kind of like a sequel to "Juliet (Keep That in Mind)"...
this part especially reminds me of the sad yet affectionate way Thea addresses the subject in "Juliet"...
I was a scared little kid with a head full of hormones and holes one eye on atonement and a body already grown old there you were with your secrets and your notebook of genuine lies saying "girl, it's your party, but you sure as hell don't want to cry"
Not that anyone cares. I just like indulging my obsession at times.
Ian, where are you? I revived this thread for you,
~E

Unfortunately, Ian, the Thea CD that you sent me came cracked and is unlistenable. Stupid German post office!

Oops!
Because I've been working away, I wasn't able to post this any sooner.
Thea was given a slot on Bob Harris's Saturday show where she gave a great interview about her life, music, new baby, big brother etc and she also performs some brand new music live in the studio..... whoot!.
You still have time to listen to this over the net using BBC's 'Listen again' feature but do so before Sunday if you want to hear it.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/bobharris/
Bob's show is a great listen anyway but if you just cant wait to listen to Thea, you should increment forward by one hour and Thea comes on at 1:01:40
Awwww! I've loved 'December in New York' since hearing her sing it live for the first time and she sang it here... just for me.
If this song doesn't send shivers up your spine there's something seriously wrong
If anyone misses this or is desperate to hear it in better quality, I should have it copied to CD soon, or I could upload it as an MP3.
Gawd I love this woman!!!!! I know you will/do too
I still don't blame you for leaving baby... it's cold living with goats

Thea was on the Janice Long show today...or yesterday, depending on where you live. It's on the BBC radio player, about 8-9 minutes in. I believe you can listen to the show for a week (though Janice has some kind of archive).

She played 3 songs:
Teacher, Teacher
Red White And Black
The List
