Stay on the Ride

Print

Standard tuning Capo: 4 E7: 020130 A7: X02020 B7: X24242 C7: X35353 The main riff played during most of the song: -----0------0--0-0---0------0-- -----3------0--0-0---3------3-- -----1------0--0-0---0-h1---1-- -----0------x--x-x---0------0-- -----2------x--x-x---0-h2---2-- --0------0-h3--5-5---0------0-- (x's mean those strings are muted by your index finger) It's mainly an E7 with a G then an A in the bass note, then it hammers back to E7 again. You can hear it pretty well in the first few bars before the other instrumentation starts. Just try to get it to sound like that. It seems a little awkward at first, but you'll get in the groove of it. The only parts of the song that are any different are: A B B B B (pause) E7 (riff) Hey, I'm staying on the ride, it's gonna take me somewhere A B B B B (pause) E7 (riff) Yeah, I'm staying on the ride, it's gonna take me somewhere And then the bridge, which is A B E7 (riff) I was born with no name, knowing nothing, and still I don't A B Somebody said, "You need a name, I'm gonna give you a name," C B And I said, "No, you won't," I said, "No, you won't" The song ends one one strum of E7.
